Yee Haw!

Today was Cowboy day at Maddie's school. She insisted on bringing her stick horse to school. Everyone was suppose to bring their favorite ingredient to add to a special trail mix. Maddie brought chocolate chips, my kind of trail mix!
She has a sudden interest in horses. She keeps begging for one. She also wants to go to a horse camp this summer. I think this is about the age I started dreaming of a horse too. Time flies. I have to admit, she makes a pretty cute cowgirl.
Here she is with her good buddy, Hayden.

Kinley's date with Dad

Daddy took Kinley to her favorite place, Inflatable World. She loves to go to the "jumpy place". Kinley was so excited to get ready for her date. She picked out a special outfit and wanted me to braid her hair. I just pretended not to notice that she was wearing white dress shoes in February. After all, we do live in Austin!
Kinley loved having the attention of her daddy while he watched her "jump everywhere". They enjoyed a meal together at the mall. It is so sweet to see how much they love their daddy.

Maddie's Date with Daddy

This year for Maddie's date with Daddy, they decided to something more casual. They went to see the movie Hotel for Dogs. Madison has really wanted to see this one. Maddie loves going to the movies with her daddy because he buys her lots of "junk". There is something special about popcorn and skittles at the movie. Madison said her favorite part of the date was looking at her daddy during the movie. She said we laughed and cried at all the same parts. How sweet is that!

Valentine's Day parties

Today Caden and I spent the day partying with the girls. First we went to Maddie's school and celebrated with her. The kinder class put on a great Valentine performance. We were so glad that Maddie finally recovered from strep throat and was able to participate. She was especially thrilled to get to wear something other than her uniform to school!
Here are a few snaphots:

Here she is with her kinder teacher, Miss Carlson.

Then we went hopped over to High Hopes to party with the three year olds! Cade was excited to see "Kin-Kin" and "ABBIE". Caden loves his cousin Abbie.

Caden and I were pooped out and ready to take a nap. We had a lot of fun and way too much sugar.

My Blooming Artist

For Christmas, Granna and Grandaddy gave Madison art lessons. We found the most wonderful teacher. She is young, fun and very inspiring! She said that Madison has a real gift and the "heart of an artist". I have been very impressed with her first two pieces. Her teacher gave her a little bit of coaching but she did all of the work herself. I guess she gets this gift from her great grandmothers. It is definitely not from me!

This is her first oil pastel, they were working on shadowing.

This is her first painting. It was a Valentine's Day gift for me. I just love it!
