Daddy Daughter Dance

Madison's School had a special Daddy/Daughter Dance this month. Maddie was thrilled to have this time with her Daddy and all of her friends.
We took special care in choosing a dress and fixing her hair. Maddie chose her Daddy's favorite dress to wear and wanted her hair in an "updo".
Kinley wanted to put on her dress too and have her picture made. She kept saying that she could not wait for when she was in kindergarten!

Even though Kinley wanted to go to the Daddy/Daughter Dance too. She was still extremely excited for her sister. We are so proud of her loving spirit and joyous heart.

Rob bought Maddie a precious corsage for the special ocassion. Pink roses are her favorite flower.

They had a wonderful time at the dance. I should have taken a before and after picture because they both came home sweaty from dancing so much. Maddie's favorite part was watching Daddy do the limbo dance.
Wouldn't we all enjoy that?
We are so richly blessed!

Austin Zoo

Over Spring Break, we went with my mom to the Austin Zoo.
We brought a picnic lunch and just spent the day leisurely looking around.
The kids LOVED the gigantic stuffed gorilla in the gift shop.

Caden's favorite part of the trip was the train ride.

They also enjoyed feeding the animals.
It was amazing how close you can get to them at this zoo.
We were all enthralled with watching them interact!
The tiger was Maddie's favorite animal at the zoo.

Kinley's favorite was the monkey.

Cade seemed to like the turtle best.

I wonder if this says something about their personality?

What's Happening Mom?

Our little sweetie is growing up fast. He is constantly asking questions.
What's Happening?
What is that?
What is that noise?
Where is Daddy?
Where's Daddy's uck? (truck)
He is obsessed with trucks! I did not know that a 19 month old could identify a Front loader or an excavator. I did not even know what those were until I had a little boy! Now I see them everywhere.
He also loves buses. He begs "I wanna ide in it." as he still can not say his r's. He also starts singing the "Wheels on the bus". What a fun stage we are in right now!
The wheels on the bus go round and round.......

The Dog Doctor

A few weeks ago Kinley asked Maddie what does a vet do? Maddie responded that a vet is a dog doctor. I saw Kinley get a little perplexed but then she went on about her day. A week later, she told me that she thought Capone needed to go to the vet. Then last night, she insisted that Capone go see the vet to get his shots. I finally asked her what her obsession was with the vet.
She said "Mommy, I have never seen a dog doctor before. I want to see how this dog is going to give Capone his shots and give him a check-up."
It finally dawned on me that all of this time, Kinley has been visualizing an actual dog as the doctor.
Oh.. to be three and so literal!

Stretch your mind

Maddie and I were reading a book at bedtime. The main character was returning to school and was excited to learn. She explained the importance of stretching her mind. I looked over to see Maddie making these faces...

When I asked her what she was doing, she explained that she was stretching her mind.

If it were only that simple.

Viva Las Vegas

This year we got to celebrate Rob's birthday with some of our closest friends in Las Vegas. It was so much fun! We went with four other couples; Richie and Cece Ray, Bob and Wendy Smiley, Phillip and Aimee Woodward, Chris and Shelle Honeycutt, and Justin and Ali Lime. Richie and Cece, being the event coordinators, planned a great trip. They are such gracious and generous friends.

We all stayed at the Belagio. The rooms were incredible. We have three bathrooms in just our suite! Rob and I kept saying that our whole family of five could live there!
It was so great to spend time with our buddies without the distraction of little ones. Do not get me wrong, I missed my babies but it was nice to reconnect with good friends.

The last time we went to Vegas, I was pregnant with Kinley so it was hard to enjoy it all. I had so much fun this time. We enjoyed three glorious days at the spa along with great shows and dinner each night.
The first night we saw The Jersey Boys, which I loved and highly recommend! The second night we watched Terry Fator, the guy who won America's Got Talent. The final night was spent laughing at Gordy Brown. It was such a special treat!

Now back to reality....
